For this assignment, you will locate a short article on a workplace violence incident in a U.S. general industry workplace. A couple of rules on the article selection are as follows:
The article should be recent and no more than five years old.
Ensure the publication source is credible. The source does not have to be scholarly, but make sure it is not just a blog or opinion piece.
Once you have located the needed information, write a short 1-page critique on the article that includes the following points:
Name of company and location
Type of industry and products (i.e. manufacturing, steel piping, etc.)
A brief paragraph or two on the details of the workplace violence incident – date, the suspected or known reason for the violence, and any other significant details such as:
Can you determine from the information provided if the company was negligent in preventing the incident?
Was the offender known to have anger management issues or involved in previous incidents?
If the offender was not another employee, how did the individual gain access to the facility?
Include any other information that stood out to you in the article.
