What do you like or dislike about them? How is the speaker able to convince or persuade the audience in seeing things from his or her perspective? Speeches are powerful instruments for educating, entertaining, and persuading an audience. When giving a public speech or presentation, the speaker has the option of either enrapturing the audience or letting them down. Consequently, it is vital that any public speaker has the necessary abilities and techniques to successfully make the speech. The speaker must be able to recognize the audience’s wants and needs, as well as their interests, backgrounds, and, most importantly, their mindsets. In this post, I’d want to share some of the most memorable and impactful speeches I’ve come across while researching and preparing for this course.

          Wendy Troxel has given a highly persuasive speech, which was delivered at the event. Troxel starts out her speech in a way that is very convincing by giving an engaging introduction in which she acknowledges and appreciates her audience. This is a skill that helps her grab their attention. This helps her to develop common ground with them and makes them feel intimately attached and involved with the topic that is being discussed thanks to the fact that she is able to do so. As a result of this, she manages to win over the hearts of her listeners by providing a very compelling explanation for her speech’s thesis, which is to advocate for the rights of children to receive an education. A component that the audience identifies as having a strong degree of resonance with them and that functions as a wake-up call to action for the audience.
